When you download a PDF or export a RIS file to your reference manager (EndNote, Zotero or Mendeley) for the first time, Kopernio creates a new folder on your computer.
You can find this folder in your computer's default download location (e.g. User/Downloads/kopernio).
If you'd prefer to save the RIS files along with the PDFs somewhere else
(e.g. User/Documents/My_Research_Project), there are a couple of browser settings that could come in handy.
One of these would be to change the default download destination, but please note this will affect every single file you wish to save to your computer.
Another way to go around it is to tell your browser not to download anything without you selecting the destination folder first.
- If you use Chrome it's under Settings > Advanced > Downloads: Ask where to save each file before downloading
- If you use Firefox it's under Preferences > General > Downloads: Always ask you where to save files
Each time you will try to download a file you will be prompted to select the destination folder first.
Your download window will remember recent and favourite places for you so that you can select the location with only a couple of clicks.
